Greed is right.

Greed works.

Greed clarifies, cuts through, and captures the essence of the evolutionary spirit.

Greed, in all of its forms, greed for life, for money, for love, knowledge, has marked the upward surge of mankind.

Finally i got a chance to watch the movie " Wall Street" and listen to the famed "greed is good" speach.

I don't know if it was Michael Douglas's performace being too powerful and leading, or because the speach itself does make sense, I am sold.  

I believe greed has always been marked morally objectionable, it is a sin of excess, a depravity of lust; even the word itself brings certain corrupted scent. But listen to Gordon Gekko speaking out loud the unspeakable,  i think he was right. We all are greedy, who doesn't want to be "er" -- wiser, stronger, prettier, richer,happier-- there is always something to chase after, It is the human desire that to achieve more and to not be complacent that moves a person and a society forward. 

Having said that, we also suffer from the consequence of our greed nature, as when comes to the constant battle  with yourself of wanting something, you are almost certain to be disappointed. The ultimate question is how much is enough? Bud Fox also asked this question.... I  wish I could be hardcore as Gekko, who was never satisfied, which actually makes things easier. It is harder when you are greedy yet  have a soft side, and here comes the struggle.
